PAGE – Parents Advocating for Gifted Education—is a parent advocacy group dedicated to improving educational opportunities for gifted children in the Upper Saddle River School District.  PAGE re-formed in the Fall of 2007 to provide a unified voice to our board of education and administrators on the issues of gifted curriculum and programming.  PAGE brought before the board three main concerns: 

1) Our district’s failure to respond to the changes in New Jersey law in June 2005;

2) Our district’s failure to properly identify gifted children pursuant to current New Jersey law; and

3) Our district’s failure to provide adequate educational opportunities addressing process, content, product and learning environment. 

PAGE believes that our district has taken the first step in the right direction by updating Policy 2464 “Gifted and Talented Pupils” in March 2008.  But this is just a small step toward our ultimate goal, creating the best possible program for our children.
